RAILINGS FOR SUSPENDED STAIRCASES
Our Glass Railings for Suspended Staircases
If you have a high elevation, young children, or an open stairwell (empty space at the end of the steps), Monolith recommends installing glass railings to secure your suspended staircase.
This type of railing does not detract from the floating appearance of your staircase. It is directly attached to the end of the steps using a nut welded to the metal support.
Our Glass Railing Fixings
Monolith does not supply the glass for your staircase; we only provide the fixing support. This choice allows you to find a specialized glazier near you, reducing the risk of breakage and the high transportation costs associated with this type of material.
The fixing support is a nut securely welded to the end of the support. The housing is then placed on top. You simply need to drill a hole using a hole saw once the housing is glued in place to achieve perfect alignment.
A nut serves as a fixing point. It is not necessary to have one at each support. Our nuts are priced at €60 excluding tax per fixing.
To install the glass railing on a suspended staircase, a special fixing point with a spacer is screwed into the nut. The glass panel is then tightened by the spacer, leaving only a chrome metal cap visible for a flawless finish. The hardware is not supplied by Monolith, but we will direct you to a partner retailer for direct ordering.
Bolt Covers for Railings
If you don’t like the appearance of a chrome cap and want a completely floating staircase design, consider our bolt cover system. This system is specially designed for suspended staircases, providing a seamless and elegant integration.
This is a plate that matches the appearance of the step, which is glued behind the glass panel and covers the spacer. This creates a perfect continuity in the step, harmoniously integrating the glass panel with the housing.
Our bolt cover system is sold for €60 excluding tax per step.
